What Does "Coopera" Mean?
It means “cooperate” in Spanish. "Cooperate" because that’s our approach in all that we do and Spanish origin because the emerging Hispanic market is our area of expertise. Our name also celebrates the cooperative roots of our credit union clients.
Coopera was founded in 2006 by Warren Morrow, in partnership with the Iowa Credit Union League. Warren was a visionary in the credit union industry and Hispanic community who passed away unexpectedly in 2012 at the age of 34. Warren dedicated his life and career to helping the underserved. He touched countless lives and believed deeply in helping Hispanics receive dignified financial services. Warren’s legacy lives on through Coopera and we celebrate his spirit each day as we fulfill our mission.
